AOL's Advisors
Established in 2000, the mission of AOL's Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is to advise America Online, Inc. on the accessibility of our products and services to assure that the consumer products are convenient and easy-to-use for everyone, including people with disabilities.
AOL recognizes that receiving insight and advice from the disability community is an important step in making AOL products and services accessible. AOL views the Accessibility Advisory Committee as a partnership and an opportunity to turn to experts and leaders in the disability community for advice and suggestions about how to overcome the challenges and use the opportunities presented. The Accessibility Advisory Committee members have diverse backgrounds ranging from advocates on public policy issues to software and hardware experts. Among the organizations represented on the committee are:
American Assocation of Retired Persons; American Foundation for the Blind; National Federation of the Blind; National Organization on Disability; World Institute on Disability; The Arclink; American Association of People with Disabilities; National Center for Accessible Media; Alliance for Technology Access; Gallaudet University; Telecommunications for the Deaf, and the National Association of the Deaf.
